- Learning together for a sustainable future -

Welcome to Aldgate Primary School
Principal's Message

I am sure that your child will be welcomed into our school community and that he/she will enjoy learning in our happy, caring and stimulating learning environment.

At Aldgate Primary we value the fact that, as a parent, you know a great deal about your child and the way he/she learns. We will be interested to learn from you in order to develop the best possible learning plan to suit your child’s needs.

The strength of our school lies in the close partnership between students, staff and parents and the wider community.

School's Vision Statement

Our vision at Aldgate Primary is to develop life-long learners who are resilient, responsible global citizens showing empathy and respect for others and the environment.

We Acknowledge

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land, the Peramangk and Kaurna peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging of the Peramangk and Kaurna peoples and acknowledge that they are the Custodians of the Adelaide Hills region. We would also like to acknowledge that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still important to the living Peramangk and Kaurna peoples of today.

Vision for Reconciliation

Aldgate Primary School’s vision for reconciliation comes from a shared understanding that for reconciliation to be successful we need to show our respect and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and perspectives. We aim to ensure that we respectfully incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, histories and cultures throughout the curriculum, the built environment, in pedagogical practices, professional development, student experiences and community engagement for all students to engage in reconciliation, respect and recognition of the world’s oldest continuous living cultures.

We will work toward engaging and building relationships with members of the local Aboriginal community and form authentic partnerships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous people through the development of cultural awareness for staff and students. Our commitment is ongoing, and our practices will be clearly visible.
